ELSA BABTISTGER/NED GRAPHIC AND TYPE DESIGNWORK
2024Bye Bye Poster
Design for our 2024 graduate exhibition, a poster that celebrates the sweet farewell. Inspired by the iconic Chupa Chups lollipops, the design reflects the diversity and creativity of the showcased projects. The design plays with playful typography and is printed in silver on colored paper using Offset printing.2024Bachelor Thesis
Multidisiplinary Design"On the Edge: Revealing the Unseen" is a graphic exploration that pushes the limits of written communication by using outlines as a visual tool. The collection "Dimensions of Outlines" experiments with the intersection of function and abstraction in graphics and glyphs—exploring the boundaries between form and void, visibility and invisibility, two-dimensionality and three-dimensionality. 2024On the EdgeBachelor's DocumentationIn this work, she explores a creative perspective on the intersection of type between function and abstraction using typography with outlines. Type can be deconstructed through the use of different styles of outline fonts. It is about the exploration of reduction, visual language and when a line becomes an outline.
2023Bauhaus Master Lecture
Poster Design for the visual identity for the Bauhaus Master Lectures summer semester, 23 of the Visual Communication Department. The concept was inspired by historical circus posters; each lecture was given its own poster, which was realised as a two-colour Riso print. The motifs show fantasy animals inspired by the initials of the guests. For the
anouncment of the Lecture Series we also did screen printed posters with vibrant colors. 202360 Degress
Type Design
60 Degress is a mono-typeface that is based on the concept of the social pyramid and critically scrutinises it. The societal pyramid represents the distribution of power, resources and privileges and shows how different groups interact with each other within society.
The typography picks up on the imbalance, but in return also addresses the utopia of an inclusive society.2023Horizonte
PosterDesign of the lecture series Horizonte for the summer semester, 23 on the topic „Critical Landscapes“.
For the concept, we worked with the topic of flowers and plants that are threatened with extinction. We modelled and reinterpreted the flowers in Blender and were also inspired by the earlier Art Nouveau style. 2023Proposal Opendeur Dag
PosterDuring my time at the KASK, we were given the task of developing a concept and design for the Open Day 23.
I orientated myself on the idea of the old games, things you knew from the past like Snacke, CubeTris or Casino Slots. By distorting and compressing
the typography it tries to suggest the already possible animation. 2022Internship Report
Book Design
The project documents my six-month internship journey at @szenographie valentine koppenhöfer. The report reflects the architectural, graphic aesthetic of the studio and chronicles my involvement in various projects. The book design takes a systematic, archival and clean design approach.
2021Archiv der AspekteBook DesignThe goal was to explore the limits of creativity and inspiration in the form of graphic archives. Words such as: Volume, Repetition, Development, System and Parameters played a role.
In the process we developed archives which we further used as input for poster designs. Finally, we designed a publication. This was to transport the above mentioned words in a creative way and function as an object.
